Display and Hardware Information

This page shows the display and hardware details your browser can see about your device: screen resolution, scaling, color depth, CPU threads, approximate memory, and the graphics card in use. It's a quick way to check settings or identify a device without opening system menus.

What each value means

  • Window Size: The size of your browser's viewing area.
  • Screen Resolution: Your screen's size in the units the browser uses. With display scaling on, this is smaller than the panel's native resolution: a 2560x1440 screen at 125% scaling shows as 2048x1152.
  • Pixel Ratio (DPI): Your display scaling. 1.00x is 100%, 1.25x is 125%, 2.00x is typical for Retina and other high-DPI screens. Multiply it by the screen resolution to get the native resolution. Browser zoom changes it too, so reset zoom (Ctrl+0 or Cmd+0) first.
  • Available Space: The screen area left after the taskbar or dock.
  • Color Depth: 24-bit is standard. 30-bit usually means a 10-bit or HDR display is active.
  • CPU Cores (Logical): The number of threads your processor can run at once.
  • RAM (Approx GB): A rounded figure. Browsers deliberately cap and round it for privacy, so it can read lower than your actual memory.
  • GPU Renderer and Vendor: The graphics processor your browser is using.

Handy checks

  • Is my monitor at its native resolution?: Multiply Screen Resolution by Pixel Ratio and compare it with your monitor's specifications.
  • Which GPU is my browser using?: On laptops with two graphics chips, GPU Renderer shows whether the browser is using the integrated or the dedicated one.
  • Identify a device remotely: Ask someone to open this page and read the values out to you; it's quicker than walking them through system settings.

Common Questions

A value is missing or says 'Not Supported'

  • Browser support: Not every browser exposes every value. Memory, for example, isn't available in Firefox or Safari.
  • Privacy protections: Some browsers and extensions hide or fake hardware details to prevent fingerprinting. 'Masked/Unknown' for the GPU is a common result.

Platform says Win32 on 64-bit Windows

  • Expected: Browsers report 'Win32' on all versions of Windows for compatibility. It doesn't mean your system is 32-bit.

Use this page for a quick look at what your device and browser report, then dig into your system settings if something doesn't match.

Frequently asked questions

Why is a value missing?

Some browsers don't expose every property, or restrict it to protect privacy.
