About WeTestIt.Live
WeTestIt.Live is a free collection of device tests that run right in your web browser. Open a test, allow access if your browser asks, and see straight away whether your camera, microphone, speakers, keyboard, mouse, touch screen or display is working. There's nothing to download or install, and no account to create.
Who it's for
- Anyone getting ready for a call or class: check your camera, mic and speakers before you join.
- New-device owners: look for dead pixels, sticky keys or a drifting touch screen while you can still return it.
- Schools and IT teams: check a cart of laptops or a room of desktops quickly, with nothing to install on each one.
- Gamers and tinkerers: check key presses, mouse buttons, latency, and how your CPU and GPU hold up under load.
Your privacy
The tests run on your device. Camera video, microphone audio and the readings each tool shows are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. The ping test is the exception by design: it sends small timing messages to our server to measure latency. The privacy policy describes exactly what is and isn't collected.
How it's funded
The site is free and supported by ads on the home page. The individual test pages and the embeddable versions of each test have no ads.
All the tests
- Camera Test: See every connected camera at once, check each feed's resolution, and find camera hardware, driver, or permission issues.
- Microphone Browser and Input Level Test: See every microphone on your device with a live level meter and waveform, then open any mic in the recorder and spectrogram.
- Microphone Recorder and Spectrogram: Watch a live waveform and spectrogram, record and play back audio, and scrub through the recording to check sound quality.
- Speaker Test and Tone Generator: Check left and right speakers, play tones from 20 to 2000 Hz, pick an output device, and measure speaker-to-microphone latency.
- Dead Pixel Test: Fill your screen with solid red, green, and blue to find dead, stuck, or lit pixels on any monitor, laptop, phone, or tablet.
- Mouse Test: Check left and right clicks, scroll wheel direction and speed, and cursor movement to find double-clicking, lag, or tracking problems.
- Keyboard Test: Press each key to see it light up on a virtual keyboard and find dead, sticky, or wrongly mapped keys and rollover limits.
- Touch Screen Test: Draw with one or more fingers to find dead spots, ghost touches, and multi-touch problems on phones, tablets, and laptops.
- Ping Test: Measure live latency between your browser and our server with a running chart of current, average, minimum, and maximum ping.
- Local IP Address Finder: See the private network addresses your device uses, with the type of each address and one-click copy.
- Battery Status Test: See your battery level and charging state live, with time remaining, a trend chart, and an estimate of full battery life.
- GPU Stress Test: Load your graphics card with a WebGPU compute workload and watch live throughput to spot overheating, throttling, or crashes.
- CPU Stress Test: Load every processor thread with intensive calculations and watch a live score chart to check stability, cooling, and throttling.
- Display and Hardware Information: See your screen resolution, scaling, color depth, CPU threads, approximate memory, and graphics card as reported by your browser.
